Jeff Stibbard, Chief Executive Officer
Mr Stibbard is the founder and CEO of JDS Energy & Mining (JDS), and has expertise in mine management, construction and operations. He has served, or continues to serve as a Director and or a Technical Advisor to numerous mining companies including Capstone Mining Corp. (formerly Sherwood Copper Corp.), Stornoway Diamond Corp., Tenajon Resources Corp. and MegaMoly Corp.
Mr Stibbards experience includes Mining Manager, BHP Ekati Diamond Mine, which included initial design, permit and construction of the project. General Manager of Mining, Albian Sands Energy Inc., Fort McMurray. Mr Stibbard was accountable for leading the design, construction and operation of the 450,000 tpd Muskeg River Oilsand Mine and Tailings Dyke. Prior to Albian Sands, Mr Stibbard was one of the original founding members of Western Oilsands Inc. a 20% partner in the development of the Shell Muskeg River Mine, Fort McMurray.
Since founding JDS in 2005, the firm has been involved in the design, permit, construction, operation and maintenance of multiple successful projects. Mr Stibbard received a B.S. in Mining Engineering, from the Montana School of Mines in 1987.
Brent Gilchrist, President
Mr Gilchrist joined Jeffco Ventures Inc., the capital arm of the JDS group of companies, in 2011 and has worked closely with JDS Energy & Mining for most of the last decade. He is responsible for managing private equity and venture capital opportunities for projects owned and operated by JDS. Before joining Jeffco Ventures Brent was in the financial services industry at RBC Dominion Securities where he created and managed customized portfolios for high net worth individuals and corporate clients providing a diverse asset-allocation and client-centric investment strategies. Prior to RBC, Brent played 15 seasons in the National Hockey League. He was a member of the 1997-98 Stanley Cup Champion, Detroit Red Wings.
Andrew Malashewsky, Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Malashewsky brings over 9 years of finance and accounting experience to JDS Silver. After time with an international assurance and advisory firm, he joined the finance team with JDS Energy & Mining in 2012, graduating to the Jeffco Ventures Group of Companies (Energy & Mining’s Private Capital Group) including management of Craigmont Industries and JDS Silver among others in 2013. Mr. Malashewsky is a Chartered Account and Chartered Professional Accountant.
Kelso Cartwright, Controller
Mr. Cartwright is a finance professional with experience in the mining sector. Before taking on the role of Controller, he was with Deloitte & Touche, focusing on public company financial reporting in both the U.S. and Canada. At Deloitte, Mr. Cartwright developed leadership skills and took on progressive responsibility within the mining group of the company. Mr. Cartwright is a Chartered Accountant (CA) and received a Bachelor of Business Management from the University of British Columbia.
